Members of our media panel discuss how they (and their colleagues) decide which stories should be covered, and which should be left alone. And we trace the roots of the modern news media's scandal coverage to Senator Gary Hart, who was on track to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 1988 before scandal took him down.
