The image of Omran Daqneesh, a five-year-old Syrian boy who was covered in dust and blood after aerial bombardment, has captured the world's attention. Why, some have wondered, did it require a stunning photo to finally force the world to consider the plight of the Syrian people? There's not an easy answer, but we're reminded of the power of photography.
